TOSCA project rewarded by the Alain Vatrican 2013 Prize within the RAMOGE Initiative
Laura Cimoli, a student from the University of Genoa, was given last June the first Alain Vatrican Prize (ex-aequo) for her works on the pollutants dispersion and in particular, her particles modelling approach.
For achieving her project, Laura Cimoli relied on experimental data collected during the TOSCA campaign in the Gulf of Trieste (April 2012) and worked under the supervision of Dr Marcello G. Magaldi, researcher in the Institute of Marines Sciences of the Italian National Research Council (CNR-ISMAR), one of the TOSCA partners.
The Alain Vatrican Prize is a meaningful recognition for the TOSCA project, because since 1976, the Ramoge Initiative is a reference for cooperation in marine environment protection and fight against marine pollution. Ramoge Initiative has always promoted a multidisciplinary approach associating French, Italian and Monegasque collectivities and scientific local and regional authorities.
The ceremony was held in Genoa, on 12th June 2013, in the presence of authorities of different States.
