TOSCA recently developed model will be soon evaluated on the basis of existing data coming from past dramatic events.

In this framework, a heavy pollution episode occurred in the Gulf of Naples in Summer 2009, a more recent oil-spill event occurred in February the 19th 2010, in the Ligurian Sea, and finally the prestige incident, will serve as a basis to evaluate the accuracy of transport models developed by TOSCA partners in each region before applying them to the results of the recent experimental surveys carried out in the Toulon and Trieste test site.
